If Enhanced Headphone Mode (EHM) on and off sound the same, check the following:
- Confirm your status. Look for Trial Active or Purchased at the top of the Enhanced Headphone Mode settings. If neither shows, your trial has ended and EHM is off.
- Set up your Personalized Profile. If you skipped personalization, the difference will be smaller. Your Personalized Profile is what tunes spatial audio to your ears.
- Check your headphone preset. Make sure you selected your headphone model, or the Universal preset that matches your type.
- Turn off other audio effects. Disable headphone effects, EQ's, and 3D sound virtualization, which can mask the difference.
- Close other audio software. Fully exit programs that process audio, such as Dolby Atmos for Headphones, SteelSeries GG, or Razer Synapse.
- Check audio output. Make sure the game's audio output is set to Headphones.
To hear EHM clearly, listen in moments where Infected are all around you, as they are the primary spatial element. See Dying Light | What Differences Can I Expect to Hear with Enhanced Headphone Mode? for listening examples.
